Relevance + Collaboration + Application = Engagement

My Why

Experiencing professional learning in both corporate and traditional school settings has truly broadened my perspective. While the content and delivery methods may differ, the overall outcome often feels the same, participants are disengaged, and instructors dominate the session with minimal interaction. This lack of collaboration and hands-on participation can make learning feel passive and uninspiring. It’s time to reimagine professional learning by integrating active engagement strategies, especially in online environments, where connection and participation are essential for meaningful learning experiences.

My What

For this presentation, it is essential to recognize the importance of keeping participants actively engaged and equipping them with practical information they can immediately apply. The goal is not just to present content but to create an interactive learning experience that fosters participation and implementation. Google slides was selected as the design platform because it offers a wide range of layout options, an intuitive and user-friendly interface, and the convenience of having all design tools in one place. This makes it easy to create visually appealing, cohesive, and accessible presentations that enhance both engagement and understanding.

My How

How: I designed and developed the presentation using Google slides, a versatile platform that allows for both creativity and efficiency. I chose Google slides because it provides professionally designed templates that can be easily customized to fit specific goals and audiences. Its user-friendly interface, built-in video creation tools, and extensive library of images and icons made it easy to design visually engaging and interactive content that enhances comprehension and interest.

In preparing this presentation, I also drew insights from a Knowledge City blog and an article on Business.com written by Matt D’Angelo, which deepened my understanding of effective presentation strategies and audience engagement.

The purpose of this presentation is to spark meaningful discussion during a team meeting about reimagining our current approach to professional learning. I intentionally kept the design clean, modern, and purposeful to emphasize the key message, encourage collaboration, and make the recommended actions clear, realistic, and easy to implement.
